An Adrian man was sentenced Friday to 18 years and 9 months to 50 years in prison after pleading guilty to a second-degree murder charge for killing a 30-year-old Adrian woman.
The body of Jessica Marie Fox was found along the River Raisin just outside of Tecumseh in April of 2021. Michigan State Police arrested 33-year-old Christopher George Maurer in June of 2021.
A Michigan man has been arrested and charged with the strangulation death of his friend with autism months after her body was found in a river.
Jessica Marie Fox, 30, vanished in late March at the Indian Crossing Trails in Tecumseh, according to the Michigan State Police. Police described Christopher Maurer, the man who was last with her as a "friend."
The Lenawee County medical examiner performed an autopsy and identified the body as that of Fox. They determined that the cause of death was strangulation and ruled her death a homicide.
