Human Trafficking Detection and Recovery Initiative

WWE Audience Overlap with Human Trafficking Victim Demographics:

Age:

Children and Teenagers: Both human trafficking victims and WWE’s audience include a significant number of children and teenagers. This age group is particularly vulnerable to online grooming and exploitation, which aligns with WWE’s younger fan base.

Sex:

Females: While WWE’s audience is male-dominated, there is a considerable female audience. Since females are more frequently victims of sex trafficking, awareness campaigns targeting WWE’s female fans and their families could be highly effective.

Race and Ethnicity:

African American and Hispanic/Latino Populations: These groups are overrepresented among trafficking victims and are also key demographics within WWE’s audience. This overlap presents an opportunity for targeted outreach and education.

Economic Group:

Middle and Lower-Income Families: Trafficking victims often come from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, which corresponds with a significant portion of WWE’s audience. Economic hardship can lead to vulnerabilities that traffickers exploit.

Geographic Distribution:

Urban Areas: Both trafficking and WWE viewership are prevalent in urban areas. WWE’s strong presence in cities aligns with the urban hotspots for trafficking, making city-specific campaigns effective.
