Sheriff’s patrol deputies are the primary law enforcement responders to calls for service in unincorporated Jackson County. Patrol deputies provide service 24 hours, 7 days a week covering the 2,802 square miles of Jackson County. Patrol also has three tracking canines. Deputies are generally assigned to the same area “beat” which allows for more familiarity with the community and the people who live in it.

The Jackson County Sheriff’s Office Patrol division is also responsible for a law enforcement contract with the city of Shady Cove and is responsible for the White City Enhanced Law Enforcement District.  The Patrol Division has contracts with the United States Forest Service, Bureau of Land Management, and the Oregon State Marine Board.  Those contracts provide deputies to patrol areas of the Southern Oregon forests and waterways.

As a whole, the personnel assigned to the patrol division handle an average of 44,600 calls for service each year.
