I'm your host, Law Olmstead and I have spent many hours researching this case and as you'll hear in the podcast, this is a very complex case on the surface.  The main reason for it appearing so complex is simply due to the opinion of this investigator, the parents, mainly the mother, Diana Cojocari has been reporting things to police that have not been confirmed.

Both parents were arrested in the beginning for not reporting Madalina missing and only after Diana Cojocari showed up to a meeting with school staff, without Madalina, did the staff realize this may not be a simple case of truancy, but possibly something they needed to notify police about and they did.
